A study through the investigative processes of true crime has uncovered bone-chilling confessions uttered by some notorious serial killers. Here are some haunting serial killer confessions:
1. Albert Fish
“Grace sat on my lap and I made up my mind to eat her. How she did kick, bite and scratch. I choked her to death, then cut her in small pieces so I could take the meat to my rooms, cook, and eat it.” –Albert Fish

Popularly known as “the gray man,” “the Werewolf of Wysteria,” “the Brooklyn Vampire,” “the Moon Maniac,” and “The Boogey Man,” Hamilton Howard Albert Fish once boasted that his number of child victims was about one hundred. In a letter to his ten-year-old victim Grace Budd’s family, he mentions that it took him “nine days to eat her entire body” and that she tasted “sweet and tender.”

2. Jeffrey Dahmer
“I had a box in my bedroom closet and it contained the mummified head and genitals of a young man I met in one of the bars down in Milwakee”-Jeffrey Dahmer

Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer, popularly known as the Milwakee Cannibal or Milwakee Monster, is known to have committed the rape, murder, and dismemberment of seventeen men and boys between 1978 and 1991. This American serial killer and sex offender sat down for an interview with MSNBC and shared with his father the intolerable gruesome details about his victims and what he did with their bodies afterwards.

3. The Golden State Killer

The “Golden State Killer” Joseph James DeAngelo is known to have committed at least thirteen murders, more than fifty rapes, and over one hundred burglaries in California between 1974 and 1986. While speaking to a victim after breaking into her house, this serial killer uttered those words.

4. Dennis Andrew Nilsen
“After his death I washed him and when I laid him naked on the bed, there was a conciliatory comfort in seeing him at peace”-Dennis Andrew Nilsen

Known to have murdered at least twelve young men between 1978 and 1983 in London, this Scottish serial killer and necrophile writes in a letter titled: “Mental Condition Notes,” that he is not totally sure about the reason he murdered so many people and he feels like a “creative psychopath” since his teenage years.
5. Edmund Kemper
“One side of me says, ‘I would like to talk to her, date her.’ The other side of me says, ‘I wonder what her head would look like on a stick?’”-Edmund Kemper

Popularly known as “the Coed Killer” for murdering college coeds, Kemper murdered ten people between 1964 and 1973. While speaking to Front Page Detective magazine, this American necrophile explained his thought process while choosing his victims: “The first time [I had sex with a dead body], it makes you sick to your stomach.”
